The Comité Festival Mexicano-Wisconsin, Inc. scholarship is designed to provide partial tuition support in the amount of $1000.00 to a service-oriented graduating high school senior who is of bilingual Mexican/Latino immigrant heritage and faces significant barriers to higher education.
The scholarship encourages students to contribute toward their communities' improvement by contributing at least 60 hours of service each semester toward the efforts of the Comité Festival Mexicano-Wisconsin, Inc.
Last Year's Scholarship Recipients:
Last year two students received the Festival Mexicano Wisconsin scholarships.The two young students were selected based upon their history of service to the latino community and their outstanding visions of a Festival Mexicano that truly represents the Mexican community in Madison.

Eligibility Criteria
* High school graduate from a Madison high school or GED
* Bilingual student of Mexican/Latino immigrant heritage
* Provide documentation of 50 or more hours of community service
* Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on transcript
* Eligible for free or reduced lunch and facing significant financial barriers to college or University study
* Enrolled full time in an accredited four year college, University or a two year accredited technical or trade school program of study
* Student must agree to volunteer 60 or more hours of service each semester and regularly attend planning meetings of the Comité Festival Mexicano
* Student must attend orientation session with the facillitator of the Comité Festival Mexicano before the start of the Fall semester
How to Apply
Complete the attached application. Include a copy of high school or GED transcript (unofficial) and two letters of recommendation from a teacher or other school staff familiar with students' academic abilities and community service background. All recommendations must use the attached recommendation form to be accepted by the scholarship committee. Attach proof of eligibility for free and reduced lunch and documentation of 50 hours of community service.
